Dead Horde PC Gameplay, Introduction and Review Here An 'Indie' game that plays from a top down perspective pitching you and an optional co-op buddy vs. mutants (humans turned into flesh eating monsters, so not quite a 'dead' horde). This game fits into the 3rd person zombie shooter category and reminds me of Zombie Shooter, the free steam ('one level') game of Alien Swarm, Alien Breed etc.* You (and your optional buddy) play as the military. Your helicopter has crashed and you need to make it across the maps back to your military base. You start off with an assault rifle only but this gun has unlimited ammo. You obtain money by shooting the horde and money is generally split between the players (as long as you are both alive, 'cash stash' rewards are also split but the 'finder' obtains a few extra thousand). As you advance through the map you face different enemies, including boss mutants, such as the 'fat puking man' (cough Left4Dead cough) a jumping guy that tries to jump on your head, and large sprinting mutants. At certain points there are also weapon cache 'shops' where you can use your money to upgrade your rifle (damage, ammo clip size, rate of fire) , your grenades (damage, quantity, range). Much later on in the game you get to pay to Unlock more weapons, at which point you can then buy them and upgrade them as well. These include the shotgun, buzz saw, (don't bother buying,) a doll that draws the horde away, mini-gun (very nice), rocket launcher (friendly fire ...
